A few more staffers for the summer, our trusty friends! And, Trish, our longtime head-housekeeper is even wearing her super-hero attire! You can’t see it, but her jacket has a giant ‘T’ is diamonds on the back. Usually, she only wears this when cleaning multiple rooms simultaneously.

What keeps you busy when you’re not at DWR? Depends on the year. Currently working on a bachelors in business.
Why did you want to work at DWR? I had three cousins work at DWR before me and it sounded interesting.
What are your goals for the summer? Continue working on becoming a career employee at DWR. Actually go running.
What is something interesting about you? I am a nomad. I am always up for changing directions.
Name: Melanie Hartwick
Position for 2010: Wait/Maid Staff
Number of seasons at DWR: This will be my first!
Hometown: Caro, Michigan
What keeps you busy when you’re not at DWR? I attend Michigan State University. I’m a Hospitality Business major. Go Green!
Why did you want to work at DWR? I have always wanted to travel out west, and when this opportunity arose I knew I had to take it!
What are your goals for the summer? I am mostly hoping to meet a lot of great great people! I also really want to enjoy the outdoors as much as possible and take in all the things I don’t get to enjoy where I live. And I’ve always wanted to learn to play the guitar…any teachers available? 🙂
What is something interesting about you? I play the harp (for fun, and for a job.) And, I’m afraid of the car wash!
Name: Alexis “Alex” Marino
Position for 2010: Wrangler/ entertainer/ token Canadian/ that girl that never stopped talking on that all day ride.
Number of seasons at DWR: This will be my third season at the ranch! Maybe a 4th or 5th to follow?
Hometown: London, Ontario, Canada
What keeps you busy when you’re not at DWR? In the off season I spend 8 months waiting for the summer to begin again. I also try to keep busy by attending the University of Western Ontario, studying music and vocal performance. Of course I ride horses during this time as well, work at a store selling camera’s, and when there’s snow I snowboard.
But mostly I just wait for summer, and the ranch, and cowboy cookies… yummmm….
Why did you want to work at DWR? After looking at several different ranches, I couldn’t resist the charm of DWR. There were great reviews online about the ranch, and I liked the family ranch idea. Now after 2 seasons working there, I love meeting all the new guests, catching up with old guests, and the fact that I get to ride horses and talk all day isn’t so bad either!
What are your goals for the summer? Teach myself how to play the banjo, start a hillbilly band (which I will play the banjo in, or the spoons), learn 3 new arias for school by the end of August, and maybe try to wear shorts more often so my legs aren’t so pasty white.
What is something interesting about you? I sing Opera, and I’m willing to do just about anything to get Ken and Randy Sue to adopt me so that I can stay at DWR.
