We have a handful or two of very important people showing up in the next few weeks. They come from all around the country (and some from out of the country). They are young, energetic, and hand selected for their work-ethic and personality.
Who are these superheroes?
They are. . .

THE DROWSY WATER RANCH STAFF OF 2010!
Meet a few today and stay tuned for more in the coming days.
Name: Jonathan Foster-Moore
Position for 2010: I will be the Rangerider Counselor for the summer of 2010.
Number of seasons at DWR: This is my first season at DWR.
Hometown: My hometown is Northampton, Massachusetts.
What keeps you busy when you’re not at DWR? When it’s not summer, I study neuroscience at St. Lawrence University in upstate New York, sing with our all-male a capella group, The Singing Saints, and enjoy the outdoors!
Why did you want to work at DWR? I applied to DWR because I was enthralled by all the positive reviews around the internet. I could see how much people loved coming to this ranch and I wanted to be a part of bringing that experience to as many people as possible.
What are your goals for the summer? My goals for this summer at DWR are to learn the guests’ names by heart, share my love of the wilderness with my campers, and to have an unforgettable time with my fellow DWR staff members.
What is something interesting about you? I am a huge film buff.
Name: Lauren Feldman
Position for 2010: Wrangler
Number of seasons at DWR: This season will be my third summer season. I also logged a couple winter months in the interim while I was trying to figure out life.
Hometown: Valencia, Ca.
What keeps you busy when you’re not at DWR? I worked at Sol Vista, traveled to Costa Rica, moved to Fort Collins, became a COLORADO RESIDENT, got into grad school at CSU for Literature, spent as much time riding and hiking as possible, and counted down the days till summer!
Why did you want to work at DWR? Because I couldn’t imagine a better summer than one spent in the Rocky Mountains riding horses, meeting people from all over the world, square dancing, having french toast and bacon every morning, fixing fences, singing around campfires, acting like a fool at staff show and making friends with other people who aren’t afraid of mud, hard work, and horse poop. The ranch met and exceeded all my expectations. Obviously. I don’t think I’ve been away from it for more than a month in the last two years :).
What are your goals for the summer? I want to hike one of the 14ers, bike Irrigation Ditch without stopping, and ride my horse more. I also want to keep the chickens alive.
What is something interesting about you? I have an unhealthy obsession with flan. I’ve visited zoos in seven different countries. I’m very serious about starting a dairy goat operation.
Name: Steve Heyman

Number of seasons at DWR: This will be my first one!
Hometown: San Juan Island, Washington (a two hour ferry ride from the “mainland”)
What keeps you busy when you’re not at DWR? ’m just finishing up a year-long stint with a nonprofit organization that serves the most at-risk foster kids in San Francisco County. What I’ll be doing next winter, on the other hand, is anybody’s guess.
Why did you want to work at DWR? I went riding in the Rockies one year at summer camp, and ever since then I’ve been itching to get back to Colorado. Plus, I heard through the wrangler grapevine that DWR is the crème de la crème of guest ranches.
What are your goals for the summer? Learn how to square dance.
What is something interesting about you? My favorite Breyer doll was named Calamity Jane…
